The Club is affiliated to The Ramblers Association,
but our members do not need to join the Association.
All walkers must however, be members of
the Chelmsford Rambling Club to comply with
Insurance requirements (even if they are
individual members of The Ramblers
Association).
Our Walks
Our club is run by its members for the
benefit of our members.
This means that our members lead walks for
others and will usually volunteer to lead one or
2 walks a programme (we issue 2 a year).
A sample summer programme is available
here so you can see the extent of our walks
and an idea of where we walk from. Most walks
are within a 20 mile radius of Chelmsford.
We encourage our members to participate in
our walks by leading walks for other members.
Don't worry, you won't be pressured into leading
walks if you are not comfortable in doing so,
but there are other ways to participate once you
are familiar with the club, such as being a Back
Marker on some walks.
